Abstract
Suicide and Homicide: Common Sources and Consistent Relationships
Franke R H~~Thomas E W~~Queenen A J
Reappraises Lester’s determination that sociological theory contributes little to an understanding of suicide & homicide. Argues that additional steps are required to complete the analysis, including correction of calculations: time-series for serial correlations, cross-state for nonwhites by removing states with very small nonwhite populations, and cross-marital status, according to race. With these, a generally positive association was found between these behaviors in the US. (31 ref)
