38 depressed patients (mostly after attempted suicide with psychotropic drugs) were studied during the post suicidal period. Butriptyline was administered in daily divided doses of 75 mg. Results were considered favourable in 70% of the cases. Side effects were limited to slight dryness of the mouth.
