It is concluded that the ecology of suicide attempts in juveniles is largely connected with a high population density, in an appalling urban environment, where social services and hygienic facilities are lacking, and accommodations are overcrowded. The general condition is one of cultural crisis, particularly sharp in those societies presently undergoing a delayed process of industrialization.
