Contacts With a Canadian “Street-Level” Drug and Crisis Centre, 1975-1978

Describes the work & functioning of the Distress/Drug Centre, an agency in Calgary, Alberta, which has evolved from a youth-oriented drug center to a general crisis center. The continuing evolution of this service, drugs most frequently noted in contacts involving crisis & suicide attempts, & the role of crisis centers that use volunteers as front-line workers are disussed.
