Suicides in latency, rare as they are, do occur. This paper describes an almost successful suicide attempt of a 7 1/2 year old girl, which at first seemed like an impulsive act. A deeper psychotherapeutic look at the dynamics involved in this child’s behavior led to a better understanding of her personality & the interaction between her & her mother.(TC)
