This article describes a form of suicidal behavior known as the ‘Boomerang Bullet’. This behavior is a form of victim-precipitated homicide in which victims incite the police to kill them by shooting at others. The author argues that self-destructive strivings are the underlying force behind such behavior for the nonpolitical assassin / sniper. Differences between assassins & snipers are discussed. Several case studies of this victim-precipitated homicide are presented, stressing suicidal ideation, behavior & attempts in the perpetratorsÕ histories. (12 refs) (SC)
