This study examines the elderly Jewish population in Israel which was categorized into 3 groups: Israeli born, immigrants from America and European countries, and immigrants from Asia and Africa. Findings reveal that more elderly than young complete suicide but, overall, there are fewer attempts among the elderly. The 2 main causes of suicide behavior are “mental problems” and physical illness. Immigrants from America and the European countries have the highest rates.
