839 women rated 47 menstrual symptoms for their menstrual, premenstrual & intermenstrual phases. The 47 symptoms were factor analyzed, revealing 8 clusters. Results also indicate that symptoms can often occur even in the intermenstrual phase. Discussion includes speculation that the higher occurrence of suicide during the premenstrual & menstrual periods may have relevance for behaviour during the intermenstrual period. (RM)
