94 Ss (28 attempters, 32 threateners, & 34 psychiatric-non-psychotic controls) rated 10 concepts twice 1 month apart per semantic differential. Highly suicidal Ss did not differ from less suicidal Ss or controls in extremeness of ratings. Suicidal Ss reported less favourable attitudes to the concepts life and myself & more favourable to suicide. These 3 concepts differentiated highly suicidal from less suicidal Ss. Suicidal Ss do not show a difference in cognitive style from controls. (RA)
