A study of gunshot wounds sustained by adolescents revealed 55 cases which required hospitalization over a 5 year period. The most serious injuries occurred in patients who attempted suicide. The methods of sustaining the gunshotwounds were divided into groups, according to whether they were self-inflicted by another person, accidentally or intentionally. (TC)
