This study investigated the circumstances of death in all bodies recovered in a section of the River Thames from 1956 to 1959. Issues of identification, post-mortem findings, & time in the water are discussed. Evidence (such as suicide notes & terminal illness diagnoses) is presented indicating that these deaths were the result of suicide. Comments on death by drowning & the possible symbolic significance of the River Thames are included. (SC)
