In this study, the authors investigated whether hypochondria could be a possible link between suicide & alcoholism. They hypothesized that there would be a high frequency of suicidal attempts & a low frequency of hypochondria in alcoholics; while in hypochondriacs there would be a low frequency of alcoholism & of suicidal attempts. Results supported the hypotheses, however, were not statistically significant. Case studies are included. (14 refs) (SC)
