A follow-up was made of 211 patients who had attempted suicide. 17 had completed suicide (s-group) & were compared with the other 194 subjects (o-group). Using the chi-square method, significant results were obtained. A number of essential differences were found in the s-group: 53% made more than 3 attempts, in the o-group, 15% did so. Findings support the thesis that those who attempt suicide versus those who complete suicide constitute two different but overlapping populations.
