Clergy are in the front lines helping in suicidal emergencies. He is normally present at major crises having trust & ongoing personal contact. The roles of recognizing suicidal persons, providing emergency help, continuing pastoral care to both the individual & the family, filling the “value vacuum”, & encouraging the development of prevention services are discussed.(GAW)
