Hypothesized that dysfunctioning or decrease in sexuality among the aged might be related to increased suicide. Recommendations include: (a)communicating that the aged person is attractive & able to generate affectional relationships in others; (b)therapeutic uses of play, recreation & sport as a method of improving physical fitness, social interaction & body image; (c)testing the hypothesis. Sexual therapy, when appropriate & desirable, should be part of the total therapeutic approach. (28 ref)
