Female Ss who had threatened but never attempted suicide were compared on the MMPI, Buss-Durkee Hostility Inventory, & Leary Multilevel Measurement of Interpersonal Behaviour to other suicidal & nonsuicidal criterion groups. It is hypothesized that persons who threaten suicide but do not carry out these threats may be characterologically different from the other criterion groups. (18 ref.)
