Assessment of Suicide Risk: Some Limitations in the Prediction of Infrequent Events

This paper reviews some of the problems in suicide prediction: definition and base rates of suicidal behavior and validation of predictors. Several known correlates of suicide are reviewed and the authors conclude that further predictive research is necessary. (KSD)
