31 people who called a crisis intervention center in Winnipeg were interviewed one month later. At the interview, the acutely suicidal (history of stability & no previous attempts) were improved whereas the chronically suicidal (history of instability or previous attempts) were not improved. The chronically suicidal outnumbered the acutes 28-3. Alternate treatment approaches for the chronically suicidal were recommended.
