The Effect of Changing Age Distribution on Fertility and Suicide in Developed Countries (Micro HB 1323 S8O26 1975)

Study examining the Durkheimian suicide-fertility relation on an international scale using age-specific rates whenever available. Changes in suicide and fertiltiy rates are then linked to changes in age distribution. The importance of intergenerational economic status conflicts regarding 1) suicide among the youth and 2) fertility behavior of young couples is also discussed. (KB)
