Suicidal behaviors can be taken, for present purposes, to comprise 2 main classes of self-aggressive acts; completed suicide, and what is still erroneously and lamentably termed attempted suicide. The possibilities for preventive action with each type of behavior will be discussed briefly, and highly selectively, with particular reference to the problems of evaluation.
