Study to examine the prevalence of suicidal feelings and behaviors in patients in a psychiatric hospital and to place patients into groups according to the intensity of their suicidal feelings or behaviors. Relationships between placement and several variables known to be related to completed suicide are studied, such as demographic characterstics, lethality of attempt, number of previous attempts, life events, diagnosis, etc., and the degree of intent in the suicidal act or ideation.
