Study to examine the psychodynamics of suicidal behavior among the Alaskan Eskimos by conducting a psychological evaluation of Eskimo suicide attempters. Emphasis is placed upon an analysis of the suicide attempter’s ego functioning as determined from the content of the Rorschach Protocol. Five specific functions are used to establish a suicide profile: realtiy testing, drive and impulse control, object relations, defense functioning and synthetic functioning.
