The study attempted to determine 1) if the MMPI had predictive potential in identifying tendencies towards self destruction through recognition of the patients feelings and needs 2) whether the profile contained suicidal slopes present in completed suicide patients 3) whether any specific MMPI scale showed up as a suicidal pattern or index 4) whether any common elevated clinical scales were found 5) whether any critical item(s) consistently showed up in completed suicides.
