Whitt H P
Modification of Henry and Short’s theory explaining patterns in suicide and homicide rates and showing the relationships to psychological and sociological theories. Three empirical studies of this theory were then carried out 1) variations in suicide rates among 47 nations taking into account religion and economic development 2) the relationships to hierarchial residential status as a property of area units within Atlanta, Ga. 3) the theory of status inconsistency on an individual level.
