Little is known about the attitudes toward suicide & how they interrelate with religious membership. A questionnaire was given to 2 adult samples of church-going members of the Judaic & Christian religions. Results indicate significant differences between them. Attitudes toward suicide are complex &, despite religious proscriptions against suicide, do not follow a simple positive-negative dimension.
