A study of 50 adolescent self-poisoners aged 13-18 reports findings concerning the adolescents’ feelings prior to self-poisoning & the explanations for the overdoses given by the adolescents, compared with those given by the clinical staff. Discusses the suicidal intent & danger to life in this group of patients. Management & prevention of self-poisoning in adolescents are condsidered.
