On The Epidemiology of Suicide In Finland (IN: Suicide Research, Proceedings of the Seminars of Suicide Research, by Yrjo Jahnsson Foundation 1974-1977)

Suicide as cause of death is the subject of this paper, which utilizes epiodemiological data from 1956 through 1973. Finland ranked 3rd in an international analysis of suicidal death rates for 1973 with a rate of 23.5/100,000, behind Hungary (36.9) & Denmark (23.8). The author discusses the geographical distribution of suicides & suicide in various population groups, presenting his conclusions about suicide in Finland from this demographic & epidemiologic data.
