Reviews the literature on group therapy with suicidal persons, & describes such a group at the Suicide Prevention Centre in Los Angeles. Concerns over holding daytime hours, running a group at a crisis centre, & the effectiveness of group therapy with suicidal individuals are addressed. The focus was on suicide, with a problem-solving approach; depression, relationships, & work problems were also discussed. The therapist maintained an active role & encouraged the participation of group members.
