Notes that most follow-up studies are made after a relatively short period of time. Involved attempters hospitalized during 1933-42 (93 men, 136 women). Traced 96.8% of men & 95.6% of women. In the 1st 4 yrs, 9 men & 5 women suicided. Observation time for the present study was 21-42 yrs, mode=35. An additional 4 men & 7 women suicided in the interim-for 2 men & 6 women, 15 yrs or more after the initial attempt. This statistically exceeds the expected incidence in women.
