A sample of 5800 persons aged 18 and over who attempted suicide resulted in 48 suicidal deaths over a seven year period. Seventeen factors were quantified in the sample ranging from age to time of day and where attempt was made. It was possible to divide the sample into high and low risk categories and thereby to provide some predictive and possibly some management capability.
