Studies of sex differences in suicide & attempted suicide are reviewed. It is found that males commit suicide more than women and women attempt suicide more than men. Men are older in both attempted suicide and suicide, use more violent methods, less often see a doctor before the act, and less often diagnosed as depressed. The need for more data is emphasized and other factors that are important to study are suggested.
