In trying to understand what motivates suicide in Denmark, as compared to Sweden, the author found not one dynamic explanation for suicide but many. Japanese suicide is contrasted with Scandinavian suicide. To fully understand suicide, it must be viewed within the context of the total culture-considering its economic constraints, it social attitudes and its dominant character styles.(SIEC)
