This paper describes some characteristics of patients seen at the L.A.S.P.C. in 1962 & reports on an effort to interview these patients years later. The significance of these findings for evaluating the influence of suicide prevention efforts on suicide rates is discussed. There are two recommendations made to improve suicide prevention techniques. (TC)
