To determine whether HLA-linked genes on chromosome 6 influence susceptibility in 40 depressive disorders, hyptheses concerning the distribution of HLA haplotypes amoung specific constellations of affected & unaffected family members were tested. The results locate a gene contributing to susceptibility to depressive illness on chromosone 6. (WAL)
