This paper reviews studies which have attempted to predict events of suicidal behavior. The areas reviewed are; verbal communication of suicidal attempt, psychological predictors, socialization experiences and the development of types of personality prone to suicidal behavior and attempts at treatment by psychiatric and other methods. The conclusion is drawn that some types of individuals are difficult to help; new and more imaginative therapies need to be developed.(SIEC)
