The paper is a first-person self-driven investigation with the following purposes: to satiate a quest for knowledge concerning the prevalence of suicide in today’s society; to gain insight into why a person would want to destroy his own life; to be able to better identify the characteristics of the suicidal person; & to focus on some aspects of what would be therapeutic in dealing with the suicidal individual. A case study, recent facts, and references are included.
