A child’s death is a particularly painful experience for the family. The grief process involves all family members and although it is individualized many reactions and concerns are predictable. With knowledge of the grief process, the patient’s physician may be of great assistance to the family during their time of need. A plan is suggested for helping the family to cope with their feelings.
