This article describes the possible impact the Watergate scandal had on former American president NixonÕs psychological well-being. Psychodynamic precepts of partial death & post-self are discussed in this case. An analysis of Nixon’s actions during the Watergate investigation that could be construed as unnecessary risk & possibly suicidal behavior is included. (9 refs) (SC)
