Abstract
Using a Battery of Tests to Predict Suicide in a Long-Term Hospital: A Quantitative Analysis
Smith K
Examined the Wechsler-Bellevue Inteligence Scales, Rorshach, TAT, & Word Association Test scores of 40 patients for quantitative indications of suicide potential. 10 had suicided, 20 had made attempts, & 10 had never attempted. No aspect of the data differentiated all 4 groups. When the ‘completed’ & ‘serious’ attempters were compared to the ‘mild’ & ‘no’ attempters, the more lethal subjects were found to give more movement responses & more total responses.
