70 widows participated in 1 of 3 groups for 7 weeks. Therapists led the self help, confidant, and C.R. groups. Results were measured at pre-, post- & 14 week follow-up. Significant increases in self esteem, grief insensitivity & negative attitudes towards remarriage were consistent at follow up. The more structure C.R. group format showed significantly more positive life changes for participants. All formats resulted in high rates of contact amoung group participants.(DMD)
