In this article 2 patients who suicided are compared to other patients in terms of cortisol metabolism and 17-OHCS excretion. The comparison suggests that 17-OHCS may not be a reliable in dey of suicidality, as 1 patient (male) had relatively elevated 17-OHCS, while the other (female) had low levels of 17-OHCS.
