254 hospital admissions for attempted suicide or deliberate self-injury were investigated, presenting 112 per 100,000 population. Overdoses accounted for 76% of all cases. Most of the patients were younger married women or persons suffering from depression. The authors conclude that all cases were not suicide attempts, but cries for help.
