24 repeated suicide attempters were randomly assigned to either behavior or insight-oriented therapy. Both treatments were similar in that they offered an intensive but brief treatment period followed by frequent contact. Although both treatments reduced suicide attempts and suicide ideation, and depression, the multimodal behavioral treatment approach produced consistently better results.
