The results of this U.S. study show that most suicides & attempts occur in winter, the fewest suicides in fall, & the fewest attempts in summer & fall. It was also found that females commit more suicide in winter, & males in spring. In terms of race, whites commit suicide more in spring & nonwhites in winter. Younger people are more likely to complete and attempt suicide in the summer compared to the winter for individuals over 45. Statistics for marital status and occupationwere also presented.
