The Los Angeles Suicide Prevention Centre identified ten sub-groups of suicidal people.(N=500). Clinical, clustering, and factor analytic techniques were used for analysis. Ratings completed by professional staff, graduate students, and non-professional volunteers had a mean agreement of 80% for clinical data and 90% for descriptive data. Significant clustering around age, sex, and acute vs chronic problems occurred. No conclusion for treatment was discussed. (GAW)
