This paper defines subintentional suicide & provides research data on uncounted suicides. Discusses youth participation in their own deaths & the unique aspects of subintentional suicide in teenagers. The problem of biased data is pointed out. Autocide is also explored. Adolescents who are unable to cope with the severe stresses of this period might attempt to attract peer attention by exhibiting subintentional behaviors such as risk-taking.
