Tsuang M T~~Woolson R F~~Fleming J A
Survival rates among 200 schizophrenics, 100 manics, and 225 depressives were compared to that of the Iowa general population, finding shortened survival for all 3 patient groups. Suicides, accidents, and infective and circulatory system diseases were more common in the psychiatric subjects, but the proportional mortality from cancer was lower. (25 ref)
