Study is an attempt to determine the prevalence of a thought disorder among depressed patients in psychotherapy & to delineate characteristics. Focal areas are:idiosyncratic thought content indicative of distorted or unrealistic conceptualizations; the process involved in the deviations from logical or realistic thinking; the formal characteristics of the ideation showing such deviations; relations between cognitive distortions & the affects characteristic of depression.
