This study investigates suicide in Swedish children & adolescents. Data was collected from 1727 patients between 1955-1959. Age distribution, seasonal variations, social & family background, education, reasons & methods employed are recorded. Frequency of suicide attempts increases with age & sex(boys higher) The majority of patients belonged to low-income groups & had difficult family situations. Reasons for attempts included love & family problems. Most common method was drug ingestion.
