This study investigated levels of depression and social adjustment of widows whose spouses died of natural causes. One group recieved bereavement crisis intervention (BCI) and were compared with two groups that recieved no such intervention. Depression decreased and socialization increased significantly in the BCI group. Recommendations for further research are included.
